Set Free Of Negativity

In life at some point we are all going to experience the feeling of negativity which can lead us to thoughts and feelings of unhappiness. These feelings can be fed by thoughts of doubt, fear of the unknown or change, fear of failure or judgement. When we feed ourselves with these thoughts, it makes us feel unhappy, unsure and unsettled.

So, how do we deal with the feelings of negativity, fear or self doubt which can lead to unhappiness?

We have a choice, we can keep feeding ourself with the painful thoughts of negativity or we can choose to be positive with thoughts of joy, happiness and love.

‘A head full of negativity has no space for dreams and desires’

In order to make the choice to break free from negativity, one must break the negative thought pattern and the way in which this can be done is by making a conscious effort daily to practice positive thinking and living a positive life.

Our mind is like a plant, we must water it with positive thoughts in order to grow and develop. When we don’t water our mind with positive thoughts, we can begin to think about the negative and the ego may appear with feelings of self doubt.

 I remember reading this quote for the first time and I thought it is such a powerful quote as it represents the shifts we must make to break free from the mind of negativity. But in order to experience the shifts, we must practice on a daily basis the importance of positive thinking and living a healthy, happy lifestyle.

So, I came up with 4 ways to water your thoughts to set free of negativity and be happy.

  1. Start the day with a positive thought – as soon as the alarm clock rings, thing about something positive instantly. For example; rather then think, ‘I’m tired, I want more sleep’ think ‘I am so grateful for this beautiful morning and sun that is beaming through my window’.
  2. Read something empowering – Each morning take time to read something empowering such as a quote or a chapter of a self-development book. By reading something empowering first thing in the morning it helps you to start the day in a positive way.

‘One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day!’

  1. Meditate – Sit in stillness in the morning and meditate. Even on the busiest days I wake a little earlier and meditate. Meditating in the morning helps me to have clarity and feel centered and grounded for the day ahead.
  2. Thankful Thoughts – Each night before I go to sleep, the last thing I do is think about the day and ask myself the question ‘What was the best part of today and what am I thankful for?’. I think back through the day and even on a day where it may have been stressful, I find the positive moments of happiness and give thanks.

By doing these 4 practices daily it assists with watering your thoughts with positive feelings of love, kindness and happiness. It not only will help you to feel more positive and happy, but it will attract the same feelings of positiveness, love and happiness around you.

By making the decision to water your thoughts with positive empowering energies, it helps to shift feelings and emotions towards happiness.

Everyday is a new day, so today choose love, today choose happiness, today choose joy. Today choose to be all that you want to be and more. For this moment right now is the perfect time to start watering your thoughts with positive feel good feelings and emotions.
